Assalamu Alaikum,
This is the first formal activity we have held for our children at Muslim Home Education Network so what follows is a general report with some fantastic photos to show the true spirit of the day. Insha 'Allah. (Please do not take these photos as they are the property of the Muslim parents whose children are in them).
We were so grateful to Allah for the beautiful weather (Allhumdulilah) and the chance to share with the many home schooling kids and their Mum's an End of Year Presentation Day and Picnic.

Our intention was to give certificates to every child over 3 years of age who wanted to present what ever they felt was special to them, whether it be achievements or some item of interest done during the year. Insha Allah
We wanted all the kids to know that they were all appreciated and clever as individuals. We had a vast range of Presentations from the Bumblebee Song to an in in depth look at Volcano's. The children were all so confident and proud doing their presentations. Masha'Allah

One of our Mums even presented her Home Schedule and behaviour management method along with her children commenting on how great they found it. Allhumdulilah. (We were all so impressed - as this sister had only commenced homeschooling a few months prior) This was also followed by a beautiful Qur'an recitations and Nasheed.

After the children's presentations we had a delicious picnic lunch followed by some relay games. The Faces of the children were all glowing as they went home that afternoon.

Jezzakhullhu Khairun to all the sisters who attended for making the day a great success. Masha'Allah.
What the Muslim Home Ed. Presentation Day Meant to Us:
Mums First:
We were all very excited to be getting ready for our first Muslim Home Education Presentation Day. There were some people we hadn’t seen for a long time, and other’s we hadn’t met before. The day was a huge success, and masha’Allah all the children involved did very well with their presentations.
We started out by playing an icebreaker game, which was lots of fun, called Killer Foggy. We then ventured outside for a relay race which involved filling cups of water from a bucket, and racing to fill a container at the other end. We saw lots of skids, and spills, it was so much fun! We liked it so much that we played it twice! The kids really enjoyed the games, and it was nice to see them exhibiting teamwork, and just having fun together.
We then gathered inside for the presentations which were just absolutely wonderful. All children were so confident, and expressed their work in many different ways. We heard stories that were authored by participants, and stories from books. We saw hand drawn pictures, and projects on various different topics. One family sang their song that they wrote themselves. Mothers were teary eyed, and children were ecstatic. It was an enjoyable and unique experience. My children were bursting with excitement when we came home, to show their Baba the certificates they had received, Masha'Allah.
A nice picnic lunch of pizza, pasta, chicken and salad was served buffet style after the presentations, which gave busy mums a time to relax and get to know sisters they hadn’t met before. More games were scheduled for the afternoon, but some people had to go home. So children who were left played outside. The weather was warm so they wet themselves down with some good old water balloons, while Mums relaxed with freshly brewed coffee and doughnuts.
A big thank you to all participating sisters and their children on making our presentation day so special. The children are already starting to work on their next lot of projects in anticipation for their next Muslim Home Education Network Australia Presentation Day!

Alhumdulillah, The MHEN 2005 Presentation Day was a huge success. It was a great opportunity to meet the newer homeschoolers, for the kids to get together and have some fun, and to see a sample of what the other families have done this year. The children all worked so well together as teams during the games too, masha'Allah it was great to see kids of all ages having so much fun together.
Although a little sun burnt (must remember the hats next year) we all had a wonderful day, and are so looking forward to the next MHEN event.

Well the presentation day was great, It was fun being with all the kids. Doing my presentation which was a story i had written was a little scarey at the beginning but after a while I relaxed and it just flowed out. At the end of the day we had a huge water fight. Practically everyone went home soaking wet, it was soooo much fun! I can't wait for the next presentation, it'll be intresting to see what will happen then.....
